subject for proposal

I plan to make an underwater themed poster that has the view were you can see underwater and the suface. The main image is of a vampire spraying dead coral with different colour spray paint and giving life. I would choose to do this in landscape because I feel that I can get more action  in the image, the scale of DPI for a landscape image is 920 width and 550 hight. I was influenced by Steve Mcghee with all of his work about the apocolipse and that got me thinking about bringing things back to life instead of ending life. I would like to used a lot of bright viberant colours to show the fact that the dead coral is now alive.

research artist

Earth Falls Away                           Last Flight Home                    Edge Of The World

Artist :Steve Mcghee, PhotoShop artist, makes art from visions of apocalypse.
My first impressions of these images are that they are very  grand and are quite creative on big scale. The reason why i have chosen Steve Mcghee as one of my artsists is because his work is so hyper on the distructive scale my eyes dont know what to look at next. I like that in most of his images there is always something big happening but at the time your eye captures all the details of the of the objects around the main image.

Artist :Simone Legno, graphic illustrator
In my opinion these images are suitible for any audience because I could children, teenagers and adults  owning shoes, clothes and posters with these characterson them. The first thing i thought when i saw these images was that it was made by a japanese artist, this is one of the main reasons i like these images, I am very fond of japanese style art i like the colour and how animated and toony the charaters are.

Typography

There are three different types of font Sans-serif, Serif and Script. Typography is the different layouts and designs of text. On this image I changed the title font size to 120 to make it stand out on the page and the colour based on the original image to make it blend in with the image.

Hippo Head

I created half lizard half hippo on PhotoShop. The first thing i did was to drag the hippo image on top of the lizard image and croped the hippos head. Then i made a layer mask so that i could blend the hippo head to the lizards body.

The second thing i did was to make the head the same colour as the body, i did this by changing the colour balance to +32 +82 and -91.

The third thing i did to thid image was change the colour of the mouth to its original colour. I did this by making another layer mask selecting the piant brush and just going over the bits i wanted back to its original colour.

The final thing i did to this image was to make another layer and make it dark blue and change the opacity to 30 to make the lizard hippo stand out.

Pixels  DPI (dots per inch)

The human eye can only pick up 300 DPI. The more DPI the bigger the save file. The more pixels per inch the sharper the image the less pixels per inch the more pixelated the image.

Bitmap are a type of image file format that we use to store digital image formats.

Vector images do not use a pixels they use mathematical algorithm.

investigation /experimentation

In PhotoShop i opened an image of a women and added a black layer over the top of it. Then I took the paint brush and made a dark blue dot somewhere randon on the page, the size of the first dot has to be the biggest and the second dot is a smaller lighter aqua blue dot with the brush size of 200 px, then get a smaller white dot with a 100 px brush size and put it in the centre of the other dots to add a glow. Then i selected the smudge tool with brush size to 110px, strength to 85% and made one big  smudge using my finger on the touch screen for the best arc shape. i then reduced the strenght to 40 to make the next two smudges smaller.

I added bubbles to the blue orb by using a scatter effect and by spacing them out. I did this by going on paint brush then window and brushes, it will open a menu so you can change the layout of the bubbles and the size.
in the picture I used a custom brush which is scattering, jigger, fade, spacing. To create a blue hue i used the quick mask mode and used the soft brush to go over her neck, face and the beeds to make it seem like the light is being captured on her face. I think this works because it gives the image life and makes it look real.
